| The filtering system (filter & pump) is the heart of your pool. It removes waste materials (leaves, suntan lotion, body oils, dust and dirt) from the water. It is also circulates the chemicals that sanitize the water and maintain clarity, and keeps the water temperature even throughout the pool.
All Pentair filters feature cartridges made to demanding specifications under the strictest quality control standards to make certain they produce the cleanest and clearest water while standing up for the long run.
Clean & Clear Filters
The Clean & Clear Filter features a chemical resistant tank with no-tool servicing and a coreless cartridge for easier cleaning. All models are equipped with easy spin-on unions for plumbing hook-ups. These filters are NSF listed for commercial applications and are available in 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200 square foot sizes.

D.E. Filters
Filtering with diatomaceous earth (D.E.) results not just in clean water, but water that really sparkles. That's because D.E. filters remove particles as small as 3-5 microns.
Even though particles smaller than 40 microns can't be seen with the naked eye, large quantities of these microscopic contaminants have a very noticeable effect on water clarity. And D.E. strips them away. D.E. filters not only filter better, they can make your life easier...if two goals are met. First, is to maximize the filtration area. Because more filter area means much longer periods between cleanings.
Second, is to design a system that requires the least amount of pumping power to achieve a needed flow rate. Because lower pumping power means lower utility costs.
That's why all Pentair D.E. filters feature curved D.E. grids to maximize surface area. It's why their internal design has been refined over decades to absolutely minimize flow restrictions. No wonder more than 2 million Pentair filters have been installed worldwide.
FNS® Filters
Our unique, patented process creates a fiberglass reinforced tank with unequaled strength and durability unsurpassed for use in all high pressure applications. Curved, modular grid assembly permits maximum filtration surface in minimum area. |
- Maximum Operating Pressure 50 psi
- Sturdy tank clamp of premium stainless steel has permanent spring mechanism to correctly indicate proper tightness for securing tank halves
- Water flows in bottom, up and around filter grid for even distribution of diatomaceous earth, eliminating bridging between elements and providing highly efficient filtration
- Exclusive grid assembly with molded-in handles lifts out easily for inspection and periodic cleaning
- Backwashes from top to bottom utilizing gravity for complete cleaning of accumulated dirt and D.E. powder
- 2 in. bottom drain assembly permits unrestricted flow when draining filter
- 2 in. plumbing connections allow for maximum flow

Pentair Sand Filters
Sand filters are one of the most popular ways to filter water. For good reasons. They are simple, effective, and require very little attention. Pool water is routed through a sand-filled pressure vessel.
Over time, dirt accumulates in the spaces between the sand particles, causing the pressure in the vessel to rise as water finds it harder to pass through. This signals you to "backwash" the filter. Simply reverse the water flow and "knock out" the dirt. What could be simpler?
But all sand filters are not created equal. For optimum filtration, all the water must flow through the same amount of sand at the proper rate. That's why all Pentair sand filters feature a special internal design that keeps the sand bed level, ensures even water flow, and results in the most efficient filtration possible. That's why more than 2,000,000 Pentair filters have been installed worldwide.
